One Visit Crowns
Dr. Paul Leckowicz is changing people’s lives with Digital Scanning Technology
Technology today is changing our everyday lives. Many people, however, aren’t aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in new and exciting ways. Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less discomfort and creating satisfying results. One breakthrough instrument, Digital Scanning Technology, allows the office of Dr. Paul Leckowicz to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings and crowns, saving patients time and inconvenience.
According to Dr. Paul Leckowicz “we have invested in Digital Scanning Technology which is a combination of a camera, computer and milling machine.” A special camera is used to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where Dr. Leckowicz uses CAD technology to design the restoration. The files for these newly designed crowns or fillings are transferred to our in-office milling machine for production of your new teeth. And the beauty of it all is that it is done in one visit.
Many dentists still use the old methods of taking impressions of your teeth and sending it out to a lab. This requires multiple visits, temporary crowns and you still may not get an accurate fit or shade match. With our Digital Scanning Device we can scan, mill, pick a shade and place your new crowns or fillings in one visit.
